Man Arrested After Killing His Wife in Myagdi

Raju BK, a 40-year-old man from Thadakhani, Raghuganga-6, living in Benimangalaghat, Beni Municipality-7, was arrested on Tuesday morning for killing his wife and running away.

According to police, on Monday night between 10 and 11 PM, Raju hit his 30-year-old wife, Bhagwati BK, on the head with firewood and fled. He was found hiding in a community forest in Beni Municipality-2 and arrested there. The investigation is still ongoing.

Neighbors heard loud noises and a fight from the house around 10 PM, but did not check in, thinking it was another usual quarrel. Police said Raju often came home drunk and fought with his wife, so no one paid attention that night. The next morning, when the house remained silent, people looked inside and found Bhagwati dead.

Neighbors also shared that Bhagwati had gone to her mother’s house in Gufatol, Jaljala Rural Municipality-3 (Parbat) earlier that day. In the evening, Raju, drunk, went there and brought her back home, where the tragedy occurred.
