KHOTANG, AUGUST 16: A 37-year-old man from Ambote, Sapteshwar, Kepilasgadhi Rural Municipality-5, has been arrested for allegedly raping a 30-year-old woman.
The incident reportedly happened around 2:15 a.m. on Thursday while the woman was sleeping at her home. The suspect was taken into custody on Friday, police said.
According to Sub-Inspector Sushant Mishra of Khotang District Police, the suspect, identified by the surname Rai, is under investigation. Police said Rai had consumed alcohol before the alleged attack. Locals helped restrain him and informed the authorities.
The victim underwent a medical examination on Shrawan 30 (mid-August) and was handed over to her family, police added.
