Man swept away in Sunkoshi River while saving dog

A 23-year-old man has gone missing in the Sunkoshi River near Dulaleshwor Temple, Bhumlu Rural Municipality-8.

According to Armed Police Force Kavre Chief Madhav Regmi, Mahesh Darji of Ritthe, Bhumlu-1, was swept away by the river.

Police said Darji jumped into the river to save his dog after it had jumped in, but he was carried away by the strong current.

Two rescue teams of 11 members each, led by APF Inspector Binod Thapa and APF Sub-Inspector Adarsh Kumar Shah, have been mobilized. Another team under Police Inspector Prashant Tamang has also been deployed for the search.
