Messi to Auction Video of His Favorite Goal, Proceeds to Go to Charity

Lionel Messi is about to drop something special — and no, it’s not another free kick.

The Inter Miami superstar, 8-time Ballon d’Or winner, and World Cup champ announced on Tuesday that he’ll be revealing a video of his all-time favorite goal on May 22.

But here’s the twist: this isn’t just a regular highlight clip. The video will be turned into a digital artwork, co-signed by Messi and renowned digital artist Refik Anadol. The piece will be auctioned off for charity.

With 800+ goals for Argentina, Barcelona, PSG, and now Inter Miami, Messi has no shortage of iconic finishes. Choosing just one? That’s a tall order — even for him.

“It’s really hard to pick just one goal,” Messi said. “Each one is special in its own way. Some were important, some unforgettable. But choosing one for a project like this has a deeper meaning. I’m proud to be part of it.”

The final artwork will be officially unveiled by famous auction house Christie’s in New York on June 11, and the auction will run until July 25.
