India’s Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri will visit Nepal for two days from August 17 to 18.
He is coming at the invitation of Nepal’s Foreign Secretary Amrit Bahadur Rai and will arrive in Kathmandu on Sunday, according to Nepal’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
During his stay, Misri and Rai will hold talks on strengthening Nepal-India relations, focusing on connectivity, development cooperation, and other shared interests. Misri is also expected to meet senior leaders and officials in Nepal.
India’s Ministry of External Affairs said the visit reflects the tradition of regular high-level exchanges between the two countries. It added that the trip will be an opportunity to further deepen bilateral ties.
The statement also noted that India and Nepal enjoy close and friendly relations, with progress made in many areas in recent years. India emphasized that it gives high importance to its relationship with Nepal under its “Neighbourhood First” policy.
