Monty Desai likely to return as Kathmandu Gorkhas coach for NPL
Former Nepal national cricket team coach Monty Desai may be making a return to Nepal – this time as the head coach of Kathmandu Gorkhas for the upcoming Nepal Premier League (NPL).
In a recent audio clip posted on Kathmandu Gorkhas’ official social media, the phrase “Aayo Gorkhali” is heard, and many believe the voice belongs to Monty himself.
Sources close to the franchise have said his appointment is nearly confirmed, although an official announcement is yet to be made. It is expected to be revealed very soon.
For the upcoming NPL season, Kathmandu Gorkhas have retained key players including Karan KC, Bhim Sarki, Shahab Alam, Dipesh Kandel, Pratik Shrestha, and Rashid Khan.
The mini auction for the second edition of NPL is scheduled for August.
