The mother and sister of Bipin Joshi, a Nepali student from Kanchanpur who was taken hostage by Hamas during its attack on Israel, met Israeli President Isaac Herzog to appeal for his release.

Nepal’s ambassador to Israel, Dhan Prasad Poudel, arranged the meeting on Sunday.

During the talks, Bipin’s mother Padma requested the Israeli president to take strong steps for the safe release of her son. His sister Pushpa also appealed, saying that her brother had gone to Israel as a student and was innocent, urging support to free him from Hamas captivity.

Ambassador Poudel asked the Israeli side to provide updates about Joshi’s condition and ongoing efforts for his release.

In response, President Herzog assured them that attempts are being made for Bipin’s freedom.

On Saturday evening, Nepali communities in Tel Aviv organized a demonstration demanding Joshi’s release. His mother Padma and sister Pushpa also joined the protest, carrying placards and calling for his safe return.
