Mother Poisons Son in Rajbiraj, Saptari; Child Dies, Mother Critical

In Chanaura, Rajbiraj Municipality-1 of Saptari, a mother gave poison to her son and then drank poison herself. After taking the poison, the 4-year-old boy died, and the mother became seriously ill.

Because of a family dispute, 25-year-old Kajal Devi Safi gave poison to her son, Saurabh Kumar Safi, on Sunday evening. After he became very sick, he was taken to Gajendra Narayan Singh Hospital in Rajbiraj for treatment. He was then sent to BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences in Dharan, but the doctors there could not save him. He was later referred to the Nobel Hospital in Biratnagar.

Police Superintendent Dhakendra Khatri said that the boy died during treatment on Monday morning. Kajal Devi is still being treated at Nobel Hospital, and her condition is very serious. Police said they are continuing to investigate the incident.
