Nepal played a 1-1 draw against Bhutan in their first match of the AFC U-20 Women’s Asian Cup qualifiers, which began today in Bhutan.

The match took place at Changlimithang Stadium in Thimphu. Nepal took the lead in the very first minute through a goal by Senu Pariyar. However, Bhutan equalized in the 18th minute with a goal from Kelden Wangmo.

No further goals were scored after that.

Despite big wins (6-1 and 8-0) in the recent SAFF U-20 Championship, Nepal couldn’t deliver a similar performance today. Bhutan showed significant improvement in their game.

In another match today, North Korea thrashed Saudi Arabia 15-0.
