Nepal loses to Scotland A in practice match before ICC World Cup League 2

The Nepali cricket team, currently in Scotland for the ICC World Cup League 2, lost their first practice match against Scotland A.

Before this, Nepal had remained unbeaten in their practice matches in the UK. But in this match in Scotland, they suffered a big defeat by 102 runs.

The match was reduced to 40 overs per side due to rain. Chasing a target of 221 runs set by Scotland A, Nepal were bowled out for just 118 runs in 29.4 overs.

Arif Sheikh was Nepal’s top scorer with 44 runs. Captain Rohit Paudel made 17, and Gulshan Jha scored 10. No other batsman reached double digits.

For Scotland A, Zainullah Ihsan took 4 wickets. Mackenzie Jones took 3, James Dickinson got 2, and Oli Davidson took 1 wicket.

Earlier, Scotland A batted first and made 220 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in 40 overs. Captain Chris McBride scored the most with 72 runs. Jamie Dunk made 48, Owen Gould 28, and Liam Naylor 25.

For Nepal, Sompal Kami took 4 wickets, giving away 35 runs in 8 overs. Rijan Dhakal took 2 wickets for 36 runs in 8 overs. Gulshan Jha and Lalit Rajbanshi took 1 wicket each.

Nepal will play their second practice match on Saturday.
