Nepal has proposed to play an international friendly match against Bangladesh before their AFC Asian Cup qualifier match against Vietnam in October.
According to Fahad Karim, Vice President of the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF), Nepal officially proposed to play the friendly match during the FIFA window in September.
However, Bangladesh is planning to play with more teams than just Nepal. Since bringing in Premier League player Hamza Choudhury, the hype around the Bangladesh national team has increased. So, Bangladesh had proposed friendly matches to seven European countries.
But due to scheduling issues, all of them except Lithuania declined the offer, said Karim. He also mentioned that Afghanistan, Yemen, and Chinese Taipei are possible opponents for Bangladesh. In addition, Bangladesh is also planning to take part in a four-nation tournament being organized by Sri Lanka.
Nepal is currently in Group F of the AFC Asian Cup Qualifiers. So far, Nepal has lost 2-0 to Malaysia and 2-1 to Laos. Their next match will be against Vietnam.
