Nepal to chase 178-run target against NT Strike in Top End T20

In their first match of the Top End T20 Series in Australia’s Northern Territory, Nepal will chase a target of 178 runs set by NT Strike.

NT Strike batted first after winning the toss and scored 177 runs for 8 wickets in 20 overs. Their captain and opener, D’arcy Short, scored the highest with 51 runs, while Tom Andrews remained unbeaten on 32.

For Nepal, Sandeep Lamichhane took 3 wickets for 38 runs in 4 overs. Shahab Alam took 2 wickets for 32 runs, and Gulshan Jha, Dipendra Singh Airee, and captain Rohit Paudel took 1 wicket each.

NT Strike had won the first edition of this series in 2023 and reached the semifinals last year.

The tournament, held in Darwin and Palmerston until August 24, features 11 teams playing a total of 36 league matches.

After this match, Nepal will face Bangladesh ‘A’, Melbourne Stars, Hobart Hurricanes, Melbourne Renegades, and Pakistan Shaheens.
