Nepal will play against Bahrain today in their final group-stage match of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Asia Qualifier being held in Thailand.
The match between Nepal and Bahrain from Group C will take place at the Terdthai Ground in Bangkok. It will start at 12:15 PM Nepali time.
Nepal must win today’s match to keep their hopes alive of reaching the Super Three stage.
Currently, Hong Kong leads Group C with 4 points from 3 matches. Nepal is in second place with 3 points from the same number of games.
Only the group winner will qualify for the Super Three, so Nepal needs to overtake Hong Kong.
To do that, Nepal must win against Bahrain and collect 2 more points. Also, Bahrain must beat Hong Kong in their final match.
If Nepal wins today and the match between Hong Kong and Bahrain gets cancelled due to rain, both Nepal and Hong Kong will have 5 points. In that case, the team with the better net run rate will go through.
Earlier, Nepal defeated Bahrain by 9 wickets in a rain-shortened 5-over match. Nepal’s first game against Hong Kong was abandoned due to rain, and they lost the second match, which was also shortened to 5 overs.
