Nepal will play against Sri Lanka again today in their fourth match of the SAFF U-20 Women’s Championship, currently happening in Bangladesh.

This tournament follows a double round-robin format, so teams play each other twice. This will be Nepal’s second match against Sri Lanka and also their back-to-back game with the same opponent.

In their previous meeting on Tuesday, Nepal defeated Sri Lanka with a big 7-0 win. Today’s match will take place at the Bashundhara Sports Ground starting at 2:45 PM Nepali time.

While earlier matches were played at the Bashundhara Kings Arena, the next four games (Match 7 to Match 10) will now be held at the Bashundhara Sports Ground. This change happened because heavy rain damaged the Kings Arena pitch on Tuesday. As a result, the second half of the Bangladesh vs Bhutan match couldn’t be played there, and Nepal’s match was also delayed and moved to a different field.

Nepal started the tournament strongly by beating Bhutan 6-1 in their first game, but lost their second match 3-2 against hosts Bangladesh.

Sri Lanka, on the other hand, suffered heavy losses — a 9-1 defeat to Bangladesh in their first match and a 5-0 loss to Bhutan in their second.

In the current points table:

  • Bangladesh leads with 9 points from 3 games
  • Nepal is second with 6 points from 3 games
  • Bhutan is third with 3 points
  • Sri Lanka is yet to earn any points

Only four teams are taking part in this tournament. The team with the highest points at the end of all matches will be crowned the champion.
