Nepal Weather Today: May 30, 2025 – Rain, Thunderstorms Likely in Many Areas

The weather across Nepal today is being affected by western and local winds, along with some moisture-laden air from the Bay of Bengal.

According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, the weather is partly to mostly cloudy in Lumbini, Karnali, Sudurpaschim provinces, and hilly regions of the country. The rest of the country is mostly clear to partly cloudy. Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is occurring in a few places in Karnali, and in one or two places in Lumbini and Sudurpaschim.

Afternoon Forecast:
Partly to mostly cloudy skies are expected in Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, and other hilly areas. Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is likely in many parts of Koshi, a few areas of Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, and isolated places elsewhere. Heavy to very heavy rainfall is also possible in some places of Koshi and a few places in Madhesh. Light rain and snowfall are likely in some high hill and Himalayan areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and a few other regions.

Night Forecast:
Partly to mostly cloudy weather will continue in hilly areas of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Sudurpaschim provinces. Other areas will remain mostly clear to partly cloudy. Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is likely in many places of Koshi, and in some areas of Madhesh, Gandaki, and Sudurpaschim. Heavy to very heavy rainfall is again possible in parts of Koshi and Madhesh. Light rain and snowfall may also occur in some high hill and Himalayan regions.

The Department has advised people to be prepared and cautious as rain, thunderstorms, and possible snowfall could affect daily life, farming, health, roads, and air travel.
