Nepal Weather Update: June 1, 2025

The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has said that western and central Nepal are currently affected by western and local winds. In Koshi Province, most areas are experiencing the effects of the monsoon wind.

This afternoon, the weather is expected to be partly to mostly cloudy in Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, and other hilly regions of the country. In the rest of the country, the weather will be mostly clear with some clouds.

There is a chance of light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning in some areas of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, as well as in a few other places across the country.

In the high hilly and mountainous regions, there is also a chance of light rain and snowfall.

Tonight, the weather across Nepal is expected to be partly to mostly cloudy. Similar to the daytime forecast, light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is possible in some hilly areas and a few other parts of the country. Snowfall may occur in some high mountain areas.
