Nepal is gearing up for the SAFF U-20 Women’s Championship — and this time, anyone with talent and eligibility can try out for the national team.
The All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) announced on Tuesday that the U-20 women’s squad will be formed through open trials. If you’ve got the skills and the right birth year, you’re in with a shot.
Trials will be held in three locations:
Players must be born between Poush 17, 2062 and Poush 16, 2065 to be eligible. Also, don’t forget the paperwork — ANFA requires a birth certificate, citizenship card, or passport for verification.
The SAFF U-20 Women’s Championship will be held from July 11 to 21 (Ashar 27 to Shrawan 5) in Bangladesh.
Nepal is still chasing its first title in this tournament. So far, we’ve been runners-up twice and finished third twice. Last year, India and Bangladesh shared the trophy. Time for Nepal to change that storyline?
Think you’ve got what it takes? Lace up — this could be your shot.
