Rising Heat Across Nepal, Light Rain and Snowfall Likely in Some Areas

According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, Nepal is currently experiencing a partial influence of local winds. Maximum and minimum temperatures across most parts of the country are on the rise.

Cloudy conditions are observed partially over the hilly regions of Koshi, Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces, while the weather remains mostly clear in other areas. On Saturday afternoon, these hilly regions are expected to experience partly to generally cloudy conditions, while the rest of the country will continue to see mostly fair weather.

There is a chance of light rain accompanied by thunder at one or two places in the hilly areas of Koshi, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces. Similarly, light snowfall is possible at a few locations in the higher hilly and mountainous regions of Gandaki and Karnali.

Moreover, a heat wave is likely in the Terai regions of Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces.

The Department has advised the public to remain cautious as the changing weather conditions could have health impacts.
