Brazilian football legend Roberto Carlos’ highly awaited visit to Kathmandu for the Nepal Super League (NSL) has been delayed due to a sudden illness, as confirmed by an official statement from the league’s organizers.
Carlos, who was initially set to arrive on April 18, will now travel to Nepal at a later, yet-to-be-confirmed date. The NSL team expressed their disappointment over the postponement and apologized to the thousands of fans who had been excited to welcome the football icon.
“Roberto Carlos will not be arriving in Kathmandu as originally planned due to unexpected health issues,” read the statement. “His well-being is our primary concern, and this decision was made with his health as the top priority.”
While the delay is unfortunate, organizers reassured supporters that Roberto Carlos remains fully committed to participating in the NSL and is expected to join the league ahead of the final stages. Talks are currently ongoing with his management team to determine a new arrival schedule, which will be shared in the coming days.
