BAJURA, AUGUST 16 – Heavy rain since Friday night has blocked the Sanfe-Martadi Highway, the main road connecting the district headquarters.
Police Inspector Dev Bahadur Chaudhary, Information Officer at the District Police Office, Bajura, said the road was hit by a flood in the Rila River in Bodimalika Municipality-4. The flood was caused by landslides from the uphill Rila village, which damaged the highway.
The Road Division Office is trying to clear the debris using a JCV, but continuous rain is making the work difficult.
The blockage has disrupted movement for both long- and short-distance vehicles. Inspector Chaudhary added that even after clearing some debris, traffic has not resumed smoothly due to ongoing landslides caused by the rain.
