A son killed his mother in Dudhauli Municipality-14, Bhaudi of Sindhuli district. He attacked her with a sharp farming tool called Khanti (used for digging).
According to District Police Chief Lal Dhwaj Subedi, 40-year-old Tularaj Sunuwar killed his 65-year-old mother, Phal Kumari Sunuwar.
Police said he struck her on the head and chest with the iron tool during a family dispute. She died on the spot.
Tularaj tried to escape after the incident but was caught by police and locals.
A police team led by Inspector Simon Dhital from the Dudhauli Area Police Office has been assigned to investigate the case further, the Sindhuli District Police Office said.
