Spain has reached the final of the UEFA Nations League after defeating France in a high-scoring match with 9 goals.
In the semi-final played on Thursday night, Spain won 5-4 against France to set up a final clash with Portugal.
For Spain, Lamine Yamal scored twice, while Mikel Merino, Pedri, and Nico Williams each scored one goal. France got goals from Kylian Mbappe, Rayan Cherki, and Randal Kolo Muani, while one goal came from a Spanish own goal.
Nico Williams gave Spain the lead in the 22nd minute. Just three minutes later, Merino made it 2-0 before halftime.
In the second half, Yamal scored in the 54th minute and Pedri added another a minute later, putting Spain 4-0 ahead. Mbappe scored for France in the 59th minute, but Yamal scored again in the 67th to make it 5-1.
Late in the game, France made a comeback. Cherki scored in the 79th minute, followed by an own goal in the 84th minute. Kolo Muani scored in injury time to make it 5-4, but France couldn’t find an equalizer.
With the win, Spain moves on to the final, where they will face Portugal on June 9.
