Taplejung man arrested for killing his brother with khukuri

In Taplejung’s Aathrai Tribeni Rural Municipality-4, Ahale, a man has been killed by his own elder brother. Police said 22-year-old Man Kumar Bishwakarma attacked and killed his 20-year-old brother Roshan Bishwakarma with a khukuri during a family dispute.

According to ward chair Arjun Limbu, Roshan died on the spot after being struck in the stomach. A police team led by Inspector Om Prakash Pandit from the Dovan area police office arrested Man Kumar along with the weapon. An investigation is underway, said Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Bed Prasad Gautam.

In another incident, a driver named Harka Bahadur Darlami Magar from Aathrai Triveni-3 stabbed his vehicle’s assistant after consuming alcohol. The victim, 19-year-old Sagar Magar from Dhungesanghu, Maiwakhola-1, was stabbed in the head while sitting inside a vehicle at Tamu Chowk, Phungling-4.

The injured was taken to the district hospital for treatment under the care of the vehicle owner, Pemba Sherpa. Police have taken the driver into custody and started an investigation.
