Three Killed, Five Injured in Jeep Accident in Doti

Three people died and five others were injured in a jeep accident in Doti district.

The accident happened around 1:45 PM on Friday at Khiradhara Dhaulamati along the Dipayal-Sayal road section in Adarsha Rural Municipality–1. The jeep, with registration number SuPra 01001JA 1395, lost control and crashed, according to the police.

Police Inspector Ram Chandra Joshi from the District Police Office said the victims were:

• Devi BK, 41, from Sayal Rural Municipality–4
• Suresh Karki, 27, the driver from Adarsha–7, Dadimana
• Kali Katuwal, 35, from Sayal–6, Katuwal village

Devi and Suresh died on the spot. Kali Katuwal died during treatment at Doti District Hospital around 4:15 PM. Police also confirmed that Kali was pregnant.

The injured include:

• Anita BK, 14, from Adarsha–3, Nuwakot
• Syanu BK, 16, from the same area
• Kailash Bista, 22, from Adarsha–7, Dadimana
• Deepak Bista, 14, also from the same area
• Sabita Katuwal, 10, daughter of the deceased Kali Katuwal

All injured are being treated at the District Hospital.

Preliminary investigation suggests the jeep was heading to Muwabazar from Dipayal and went off the road while taking a turn. It fell about 250 meters down the hillside. Police are continuing the investigation.
