The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has said that the monsoon trough is currently located south of its normal position in the east and near its usual position in the west.
At present, most hilly areas of Nepal are generally cloudy, while other parts of the country are partly cloudy. Light rainfall is occurring in some hilly areas of Gandaki and Karnali provinces, and at a few places in Koshi, Bagmati, and Sudurpashchim provinces.
This afternoon, hilly areas of the country are expected to remain generally cloudy, with partly cloudy conditions elsewhere. Moderate rain is likely at some places in Koshi, Sudurpashchim, and other hilly regions, including a few parts of the Terai.
The department has warned that heavy rainfall is possible at one or two places in the hilly and Terai regions of Sudurpashchim province in the next 24 hours. It has urged the public and concerned authorities to stay updated with the latest weather information.
