Today’s weather in Nepal: July 12th, 2025

Monsoon winds are currently affecting most parts of Nepal, according to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology. The monsoon low-pressure line is near the average position in the east and slightly north of average in the west.

The weather across the country is generally cloudy to partly cloudy. There is a chance of light to moderate rainfall with thunder and lightning in some hilly areas of Bagmati, Gandaki, and Sudurpashchim provinces, and at a few places in other regions.

Heavy rainfall is also likely at one or two places in Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim provinces. Light to moderate rain or snowfall is expected in some high hilly and mountainous areas.

Tonight, the sky will remain partly to generally cloudy across the country. Light to moderate rainfall with thunder and lightning is possible in some places of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, and in a few places elsewhere. Heavy rainfall may occur in one or two places in Koshi, Madhesh, and Bagmati provinces. There is also a chance of light to moderate rain or snowfall in one or two areas of the high hills and Himalayas.
