Nepal is currently under the influence of the monsoon winds, along with a low-pressure system near Uttar Pradesh, India. The monsoon trough is positioned close to its average location, according to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology.
This afternoon, skies across the country will mostly be cloudy. Light to moderate rainfall with thunder and lightning is expected in some places of Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces.
There is also a chance of heavy rain in one or two places in those provinces. In the higher hilly and Himalayan regions, light to moderate rain and even snowfall are likely.
Some areas in the Terai region of Lumbini and Sudurpaschim may experience strong winds.
Due to possible rainfall, there is a risk of floods, landslides, and rising river levels. People living in urban and lowland areas are advised to stay alert as waterlogging and flooding could occur.
Authorities have also warned that daily life, agriculture, health services, tourism, roads near rivers, and even air transport could be affected. Everyone is urged to remain cautious and make necessary preparations.
