The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has said that monsoon winds are currently affecting most parts of Nepal, with the monsoon low-pressure line located near the average position.

Daytime Forecast (Wednesday):
Cloudy weather is expected across the country. Light to moderate rainfall with thunder and lightning is likely in some hilly areas of Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini Provinces. A few places in Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim may see heavy rain. Light to moderate rain and even snowfall is possible in high hills and Himalayan regions.

Nighttime Forecast (Wednesday):
The skies will remain partly to mostly cloudy at night. Some areas in the hilly regions of Koshi, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim may experience light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning. A few locations in Koshi, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpaschim could get heavy rain. Light to moderate rain or snowfall is also likely in higher mountainous areas.

Risk of Floods and Landslides:
Due to the expected rainfall, the department has warned of possible floods, landslides, and increased river flow. People living in urban and Tarai regions are also advised to be cautious as there is a risk of waterlogging.

Water levels may rise in rivers and streams, affecting daily life, farming, health, tourism, and transportation — including roads and air travel near riverbanks. The department urges the public and concerned authorities to stay alert and be prepared.
