Today, the weather across Nepal is expected to be partly to generally cloudy. There is a chance of light to moderate rain in the hilly areas of Koshi and Gandaki provinces. In other areas, there may be brief rain with thunder in one or two places.
According to the weather bulletin issued at 6 AM by the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, there is a chance of rain both during the day and at night. Light snowfall is also possible in high mountain and Himalayan regions.
Meteorologists say that western and central parts of Nepal are currently influenced by westerly and local winds, while Koshi Province is seeing the effects of monsoon winds.
This year, the monsoon entered Nepal about 15 days earlier than usual — on the night of May 29, instead of the average date of June 13. Experts say it will take a few more days for the monsoon to fully spread across the country.
