The monsoon is currently active in Nepal, though its low-pressure line is situated further south than usual. According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, rainfall is taking place in some areas of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces.
On Wednesday afternoon, most parts of the country will be generally cloudy, and the sky is expected to remain cloudy at night as well. The department has forecast moderate rain in some areas of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, and other hilly regions. Heavy rainfall is also possible in one or two hilly locations of these provinces.
The department has warned that the rain may increase the risk of landslides and debris flow, and water levels in rivers and streams could rise. It has also said transportation services may be affected. People are advised to stay alert and take precautions.
