Heavy rainfall in China’s Tibet region has caused a large flood in the Trishuli River. Due to the rising water level, areas around Uttargaya in Rasuwa and the Trishuli-3B hydro site in Kispang have been affected.
Water flow is also increasing in the Rasuwagadhi area, and people are being urged to stay alert. A previous flood on Asar 24 (8 July) had washed away the Miteri bridge in Rasuwagadhi and caused major damage.
Rasuwa’s Assistant Chief District Officer Dhruba Prasad Adhikari said a big flood has entered Nepal from the China-Nepal border at Rasuwagadhi, and residents in low-lying areas should remain cautious.
The District Disaster Management Committee and local disaster teams under Uttargaya Rural Municipality have already been deployed. The rural municipality and police have asked people to follow safety instructions immediately.
