Two Men Arrested for Raping 12-Year-Old Girl in Dailekh
Two men have been arrested in Dailekh district for allegedly chasing and raping a 12-year-old girl.
The incident happened on the night of August 7th (Shrawan 22) in the Chamunda Bindrasaini Municipality. The girl was on her way home after watching a local Teej festival dance.
According to police, the girl was walking home with a group of friends when two local men began to follow them. When the girls realized they were being followed, they started to run away. One of the girls fell, and the two men then reportedly took turns raping her.
The police have arrested 23-year-old Govinda Bahadur Shahi and 25-year-old Khagendra Bhandari in connection with the crime.
Police also stated that the attackers threw a stone at the girl, injuring her hand and making it difficult for her to escape. The other girls who got away safely alerted their families, who rushed to the location. The two suspects fled when they saw the girl’s relatives arriving.
The victim’s family filed a police report on Friday, which led to the arrests.
The girl was taken to the hospital immediately after the attack. Doctors reported that she has injuries to her private parts and a sprained right hand. She is currently being treated at the District Hospital, and the police have stated that her condition is stable.
