A man has gone missing while fishing under a broken bridge over the Triyuga River in Chaudandigadhi-5, Udayapur.
According to Inspector Babin Rai of Beltar Area Police Office, 30-year-old Suraj Rai from Kalikhola, Chaudandigadhi-6, went to bathe in the river on Monday afternoon with friends and disappeared while trying to catch fish under the collapsed part of the bridge.
Inspector Rai said, “He went missing while fishing under the damaged bridge of the Triyuga River. We are continuing the search operation.”
Suraj had gone to the river with two friends, Pratap Rai and Suresh Majhi. While the three were bathing, Suraj went under a broken pillar of the bridge where he saw a lot of fish—and then disappeared.
Local resident Bhaskar Chaudhary of Chaudandigadhi-5 said police and locals are working together to find him. “They came to bathe,” he said. “Suraj entered a deep hole under the broken pillar where fish were seen. But he didn’t come out. We are still searching for him.”
