Today’s Weather in Nepal: August 13, 2025

The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology’s Forecasting Division has said the monsoon will remain active for the next 24 hours due to the monsoon low-pressure line being close to the Tarai. This afternoon, the weather across Nepal is expected to be fully cloudy.

Most parts of the country may see moderate rain, while heavy rain is likely in some areas of Madhesh Province, as well as parts of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpaschim provinces. A few places in Karnali Province may also get heavy rain.

Tonight, hilly areas of Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim will remain fully cloudy, while other areas will be partly cloudy. Many hilly and Tarai parts of these provinces could get moderate rain. Some places in Sudurpaschim’s hills and Tarai may see very heavy rain.

The department has warned of possible landslides and debris flows in hilly regions, rising water levels in rivers and streams, and potential disruption to transportation. People are advised to stay alert and make necessary preparations.
