Today’s weather in Nepal: August 16, 2025

The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has said that the monsoon is currently weak in Nepal because the low-pressure line is located south of its normal position.

This afternoon, skies will be generally cloudy in Sudurpashchim Province and other hilly areas, while the rest of the country will see partly cloudy weather.

There is a chance of light to moderate rain at a few places in the hilly and Terai regions of Lumbini and Sudurpashchim, as well as in some hilly areas of other provinces. A couple of places in the remaining Terai regions may also see rainfall.

Tonight, the weather will remain generally cloudy in Koshi and Sudurpashchim provinces and in other hilly areas, while the rest of the country will be partly cloudy. Moderate rain is likely at some places in the hilly and Terai regions of Koshi and Sudurpashchim, and at a few spots in other provinces.
