Today’s weather in Nepal: August 6, 2025

According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, monsoon winds are currently active across the country, and the monsoon low-pressure line is located slightly north of its average position, lying over Nepal’s Tarai region. Because of this, most parts of the country are experiencing cloudy skies, with light to moderate rain in many areas of Koshi and Karnali provinces.

This afternoon, there will be mostly cloudy weather in Koshi, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces, especially in the hilly regions. The rest of the country will have partly cloudy skies.

Moderate rain is expected in some hilly areas of Koshi, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces. A few places in Koshi and Sudurpaschim could see heavy rainfall as well.

At night, the weather is expected to remain generally cloudy across the country. There may be moderate rain in some hilly areas of Koshi and a few parts of the Tarai. One or two locations in Koshi province might experience heavy rainfall.
