Today’s weather in Nepal: August 7, 2025

The monsoon’s low-pressure line is currently located slightly north of its average position, lying over Nepal’s Tarai region. While monsoon conditions are active across the country, the flow of moisture-rich air is currently weaker than usual.

According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, most hilly areas of Koshi and Lumbini provinces will see generally cloudy skies today, while the rest of the country will have partly cloudy conditions.

There is a chance of moderate rainfall in some hilly and Tarai areas of Koshi and Lumbini provinces, and a few places in similar regions of other provinces. A few hilly areas in Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces may also experience heavy rainfall.

Tonight, skies across the country will remain generally cloudy. Moderate rain is expected in some areas of Madhesh, Koshi, and Lumbini provinces, especially in the hilly and Tarai regions. A few hilly areas of Koshi may again see heavy rainfall, as mentioned in the department’s latest weather bulletin.
