Monsoon activity remains weak across Nepal, but some hilly regions may still see rainfall today, according to the Meteorological Forecasting Division.
The monsoon trough is currently near its average position, leading to generally cloudy skies over the hills of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Karnali provinces. Light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning is likely in a few of these areas.
In contrast, weather in the lowlands will remain mostly clear to partly cloudy, but gusty winds are expected in some parts of Koshi and Madhesh provinces during the day. The department has advised caution, particularly in open plains and areas prone to wind damage.
By afternoon, most of the hilly areas will remain generally cloudy, while other parts of the country will see partly cloudy skies. Isolated rain with thunder is still possible in the hills.
The division has also issued a special notice: there is a chance of heavy rainfall at one or two places in the hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces. All residents and local authorities in these regions are urged to stay alert and follow the latest weather updates.
