It has been confirmed that the Nepali citizen who died in the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, India on Tuesday was 27-year-old Sudip Neupane from Butwal Sub-Metropolitan City-14.
Dadhiram Neupane, ward chairperson of Butwal-14 and Sudip’s uncle, confirmed his nephew’s death. Sudip was staying in Kalikanagar, Butwal-11, with his mother.
According to Ward Chairperson Neupane, Sudip had gone to Kashmir for a trip with his mother Rima, sister Sushma, and brother-in-law Ujjwal Kafle. All three of them are safe.
Sudip was studying for a bachelor’s degree in public health in Dharan. His father, Kaushal Neupane, a teacher, is currently at home in Butwal.
Arrangements are being made to bring Sudip’s body back to Nepal. The plan is to transport his body from Kashmir to Delhi and then to Kathmandu. His uncle said he is currently on his way to Kathmandu for this purpose.
Chief District Officer of Rupandehi, Basudev Ghimire, also confirmed that Sudip Neupane from Butwal-14 was the Nepali citizen killed in the attack in Pahalgam.
