Users in Nepal and across the globe faced a sudden disruption on X (formerly Twitter) on Thursday night, starting at around 9:40 pm Nepal Time. The outage affected both the mobile app and the website, with many reporting timelines not loading, failed posts, and login errors.

According to Downdetector, the problem peaked around 11:01 am Eastern Time in the United States — about 9:46 pm in Nepal — with more than 16,400 reports. Other tracking sources recorded the number crossing 18,000 before dropping sharply to around 600 by 11:20 am ET (9:05 pm NPT), suggesting the service was restored within minutes.

The disruption was not limited to Nepal and the US. Reports also came in from Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, India, Ukraine, Spain, Israel, Italy, and other countries. Users described the outage as affecting feeds, loading speed, and account access.

X has not issued any official explanation for the incident. In past outages, Elon Musk has linked such disruptions to cyberattacks or system failures, but no confirmation has been made this time.

The outage appears to have been short-lived, but it was significant enough to spark global discussion, with many turning to other social media platforms to confirm the issue.
