4 Traffic Police Suspended for Beating a Civilian in Kathmandu

Four traffic police officers have been punished for beating a man in the middle of the road.

According to Deepak Giri, the spokesperson of the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office, the officers have been removed from their duties at the Janasewa Traffic Police Division.

Giri said the incident happened on Mangsir 11 under the overhead bridge in Sundhara, Kathmandu. All four officers have been called to the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office for further investigation.

A video showing the beating was shared on social media early Thursday morning. In the video, four traffic police officers can be seen pushing a man to the ground and beating him.

One of the officers is seen kicking the man with boots. Another officer throws the man’s documents on the ground and walks away.
