9 Dead, 19 Still Missing After Rasuwa Flood

At least 9 bodies have been found after a devastating flood hit Rasuwa.

Among the victims is Assistant Sub-Inspector Lal Bahadur Shrestha, whose body was discovered along the Trishuli River bank in Chitwan’s 15 Kilo area. His death raised the total confirmed deaths to nine.

According to Nepal Police spokesperson DIG Binod Ghimire, 19 people are still missing. This includes 2 police officers, 6 Chinese nationals, and 11 locals.

So far, 57 people have been rescued, and over 383 police personnel have been deployed for rescue operations.

The flood also caused major destruction, sweeping away the Miteri Bridge near the Nepal-China border. It damaged the Rasuwagadhi Hydropower dam and the Rasuwa Customs Yard.
