A 16-year-old boy who went missing while swimming in the Tamor River has been found dead. Shishir Rai, originally from Phalelung Rural Municipality-7, Bhalukhop, Panchthar, but living in Phidim Bazar, was found dead on the bank of the Tamor River in Chhathar Rural Municipality, Tehrathum.
Shishir had gone missing on 7th June while swimming in the Tamor River, which borders Panchthar and Tehrathum districts. Police and local residents had been searching for him since that day. His body was found on Wednesday evening, according to Panchthar District Police Office Chief (DSP) Kaushal Kumar Budhathoki.
DSP Budhathoki also stated that a police team from Basantapur Area Police Office completed the necessary procedures, and Shishir’s body was then brought to the Panchthar District Hospital on Wednesday night.
