Nepal won a thrilling match against Scotland by 2 wickets in their second game of the T20I Tri-Series being held in Scotland.

Chasing a target of 98 runs, Nepal reached the score in 19.5 overs, losing 8 wickets. Kushal Bhurtel was Nepal’s top scorer with 30 runs. Dipendra Singh Airee scored 14, Basir Ahmad 13, and Kiran Thagunna 10. Other batters could not reach double digits.

Nepal was in trouble early at 38/3, but a 22-run partnership between Kushal and Dipendra steadied the innings. Wickets continued to fall at regular intervals—Nepal lost their eighth wicket at 97.

With 1 run needed from 2 balls, Sandeep Lamichhane came to the crease and gently pushed the ball to take the winning run. Although Scotland attempted a run-out, Karan KC had already completed the run.

Earlier, Scotland batted first after winning the toss and were bowled out for just 97 in 19.4 overs. Michael Leask scored the highest with 44 runs, followed by Matthew Cross with 15 and Brandon McMullen with 10.

Sandeep Lamichhane was the star bowler for Nepal, taking 4 wickets for just 11 runs in 4 overs. Karan KC and Dipendra Singh Airee took 2 wickets each, and Lalit Rajbanshi got 1.

Scotland lost 5 wickets within the first 5 overs and struggled throughout the innings. A brief 39-run partnership between Cross and Leask offered some resistance, but it wasn’t enough.

Nepal had lost their first match to the Netherlands in a dramatic third Super Over. They will face the Netherlands again on Thursday.
