Sompal Kami to Continue with Karnali Yaks in NPL Season 2
Experienced pace bowling all-rounder Sompal Kami will play for Karnali Yaks again in the second season of the Nepal Premier League (NPL).
Karnali Yaks confirmed the news through a post on their social media, announcing that Sompal will continue as their marquee player. The names of the other six retained players will be revealed on Tuesday.
Sompal was also the marquee player and captain for Karnali Yaks last season. He is currently the most experienced player in the Nepal national cricket team and is the only Nepali cricketer to play in both T20 World Cups.
In the previous NPL season, he took 9 wickets in 9 matches.
For the second season of the NPL, each team is allowed to retain six players besides their marquee player. The marquee player is automatically retained.
Earlier, teams like Chitwan Rhinos, Lumbini Lions, Kathmandu Gorkhas, and Pokhara Avengers have already announced their retention lists.
A mini auction for the second season of the NPL is scheduled for August.
