The Hayu family from Chetpa, Golanjor Rural Municipality–6 in Sindhuli, who were reported missing and later found in Pokhara, have now been handed over to their relatives by police.
They were found on Monday night in Gagangauda, Pokhara–30 and handed over to Dhan Bahadur and Amis Tamang in the presence of local ward chair Durgaprasad Subedi, police said.
Although earlier reports said 16 members of the family were missing, a total of 19 people were found in Pokhara. According to police, the group includes members of the Hayu family and their relatives.
The family had left their home around midnight on Srawan 10 (26 July) without informing anyone. After they were reported missing, local authorities from Sindhuli, Ramechhap, and Kaski launched a search.
They initially stayed at a hotel in Pokhara before moving to homes in Gagangauda, where they told locals they had come for labor work. The family said they left their village because they were often falling sick and have no plans to return.
