A foreign national has been found dead in Kailali. According to police, 65-year-old Stephen Gore from England was found dead on Thursday night in Nomabojhi, Bardagoriya Rural Municipality-4.
Police spokesperson DSP Kabindra Singh Bohara said that Gore had been living in a rented room at the house of local resident Man Bahadur Malla since last October (Kartik). He was found dead in his room around 9:30 PM on Thursday night.
According to DSP Singh, the room was locked from the inside. When Chitra Kumari Bam, a woman of Nepali origin from Tamil Nadu, India—who was also staying nearby—called him and got no response, she opened the door and found Gore lying dead on the bed.
The police said the body will be sent for a post-mortem, and after that, the process to send the body back to his home country will begin.
According to the police, Gore and Chitra Kumari Bam’s father were friends. Both Gore and Bam had come to Nepal on tourist visas and had been staying in separate rented houses in Bardagoriya-4 since October.
Police said further investigation is ongoing.
