Kathmandu Gurkhas head coach Monty Desai arrives in Nepal
Monty Desai, the head coach of Kathmandu Gurkhas, has arrived in Kathmandu. He landed on Thursday afternoon.
At Tribhuvan International Airport, he was welcomed by Gurkhas Executive Director Anubhav Swar Sirohiya and CEO Suraj Singh Thakuri, among others.
Monty had served as Nepal’s national cricket coach for two years starting in February 2023. During his time, Nepal won 11 out of 12 matches in the ICC World Cup League-2 and qualified directly for the 2023 ODI World Cup Qualifier.
Nepal also played in the Asia Cup for the first time and returned to the T20 World Cup after 10 years under his guidance.
Monty had left Nepal in February this year and has now returned after nine months.
