Police have arrested two young men for attacking a man with a khukuri (traditional Nepali knife) in Boudha, Kathmandu.
The suspects are 20-year-old Ashish Rai, originally from Bhedetar, Dhankuta, currently living in Gokarneshwor-7; and 18-year-old Sanskar Magar, from Urlabari, Morang, currently living in Jorpati, Gokarneshwor-5.
According to Kathmandu District Police spokesperson SP Kuldeep Chand, the incident happened on the night of Shrawan 18 near Lama Petrol Pump in Narayantaar, Gokarneshwor-6.
The victim, 27-year-old Surendra Thokar, who is from Makawanpur and currently living in Gokarna Namgyal, Gokarneshwor-4, was injured in the attack.
A plainclothes police team from Kathmandu District Police and Boudha Police Station arrested the suspects during an investigation.
Thokar was first taken to the National Trauma Center and later referred to Bir Hospital for further treatment. He is now in stable condition and able to speak, according to SP Chand.
