Spotify raises premium price for Nepali users to $3.29

Spotify has increased its subscription prices for users in Nepal, India, Bangladesh, and Bhutan.

The popular global music streaming platform informed Nepali users about the price hike through email.

Starting in September, Nepali customers with a Premium plan will have to pay $3.29 per month, up from the current $2.99. Spotify began its services in South Asian countries in 2019.

In recent years, Spotify’s user base in Nepal has grown, and Nepali music has gained a bigger presence on the platform. Many young listeners now rely on Spotify for both Nepali and international music.

In its email, Spotify said: “We are increasing the price of Premium Individual so we can continue innovating our product offerings and features, and provide you with the best experience. Thank you for choosing Premium.”

According to tracking agency Start.io, Nepal had 233,000 Spotify users as of November 2024.
